Wedding Date: July 7, 2007
Colors: champagne and rose
Joey and I purchased a beautiful wedding planning binder and I have begun to fill it out with his and my mother's help. Joey and I have discussed the guest list and for the most part, the wedding party (shh), though I plan to delay selecting two of my six until more time has passed.
I have in mind the composition and look of the bouquet I want, the look of my wedding dress, the type and style of cake, the bridesmaid dresses, and several other details.
But the important part is yet to be planned. We still need to call the church. We have always attended Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington together and Joey grew up there, but St. Mary Magdalene of Melvindale is where I grew up, and it's much closer to the reception site I hope to have. We need a good officiant because the one I had wanted passed away very suddenly a few months ago at a young age.
The ceremony is of course much more important than the reception, and I want it to be meaningful, personal, and rich with tradition. Joey and I have selected the special hymns and psalms we would like to be played, the readings we prefer, and the versions of the blessings we most prefer the priest to pronounce. It will be special. A Catholic wedding isn't a formality or a party with religious trappings, it is a sacrament, and I wish to avoid getting so carried away with superficial details that I forget that.

Getting Started
I think it's pretty amazing that I proposed to you 2 days ago, and we already have a good chunk of the Wedding Planner "worksheets" filled out. At least a human wedding planner is one expenditure that this engaged couple need not consider. No cost, and twice the efficiency. The Henry Ford Estate will be brilliant, and nostalgic. Clara's gardens will serve as an ideal backdrop. And I hear that treehouse is pretty photogenic... Love.
